Our all weather turnout areas are a vital facility throughout the year. 
 
The main fields for the horses are not close to the yard so when the horses need attention or to be doing some training it is helpful to have them near the barn but still out in the fresh air.  The turnouts are great for any needing to stretch their legs after a night inside or if they are on restricted exercise.
 
We use a woodchip surface which is comfortable for the horses to move on and soft enough for those who are a little arthritic and need a rest if the ground gets hard.  It is also great in the winter to get the horses out of the mud when the fields are very wet.
 
The woodchip needs to be topped up each year and a full load is the most cost effective way to do this.
