Diane Cox
Quilting Queen
Diane has been rightly dubbed "The Quilting Queen" by Bailey. A very talented fabric artist, Diane makes and graciously donates quilts in each of the horses colours for raffle to benefit TFE. As well, she creates mini wallets to hold cash or cards, and more recently, beautiful material roses, all for sale on our Artisan Goods and Merchandise link under Support. These one-of-a-kind items are pieces of art. You may want one (or five!) to remind you of your favorite Friesian, or create a multi-color bouquet honouring all of them to brighten any room. Due to Diane's generosity, all of the proceeds benefit the horses.
Many may not be aware that Diane has a PhD in Occupational Therapy from University of Cumbria and is now Professor Emerita there. Over the past year, she has brought her professional career skills to bear in helping Tracey realize her goal of creating our Friesian Friendship Barn "Sponsor or Be Sponsored" Programme which kicked off in 2025. Diane will assist in managing the Programme and seeing it thrive. Read more about the Programme from a link on the Friesian Friendship Barn page under The Experiences.
Diane is a self-professed Friesian addict and loves the smell and feel of these Black Beauties. Retired from academia, her regular trips to the Farm can include any variety of activities--whatever the "task du jour", though clearly anything directly involving the Friesians is a bonus. She wears the Friesian Smile with pride! As a side note, Diane also enjoys spending time with the wonderful TFE Team, and firmly believes having nails done should be tax deductible as an essential part of Friesian care. Anja concurs!
TFE is so grateful for all that Diane contributes to benefit the Sanctuary at Greenbank Farm.
