Hazel is our Lady in Blue! Wardrobe, wellies, handbags, phone case--you name it. Sharing a favourite colour with Wybren, she developed quite an affinity for our beloved Teddy Bear as did so many of our supporters. As her car, too, is blue, it was only fitting when she lovingly offered to transport Teddy's ashes to our Memorial Orchard for his send-off ceremony in 2024.

Hazel first visited us in 2015, the first visit of many of the years. She's always game for whatever horsey things need tackling--poo-picking, pampering, cleaning tack, mopping the Friendship Barn or office floors. The horses join us in being especially grateful for Hazel's seamstress skills, knowing that after they've managed to "deconstruct" their rugs or sheets a bit out in the fields, Hazel will have them looking and functioning good as new!

Hazel loves dancing and may burst into a samba if sufficiently moved by whatever music's streaming over the barn speakers. A wonderful baker, she generously contributes cakes for our Open Days.

Since Inne's return to the Farm, Hazel has discovered how much she reminds her of her former mare, Ebony. She's started developing a relationship with Inne, taking her for walks and spending grooming and cuddle time. Now that she's retired from a career as a clinical pharmacist, Hazel loves that she has more time to spend at the Farm.
