Donate to Neeka's Eye Treatment
£5.00
Our beautiful Ineke fan de Groenbank was diagnosed late last year with a genetic eye condition called Bilateral Corneal Stromal Loss (BCSL). It can impact both eyes and lead to complete vision loss.
Fortunately, Neeka's ulcers were discovered early, and she has been under the specialty care of the Drs. Chris Dixon and Gary Lewin at Veterinary Vision, supported by our regular vet Sam Galloway from Frame & Swift.
Since diagnosis, Neeka has undergone multiple procedures, ultimately a corneal tissue graft. She withstood a partially embedded catheter through which we administered several medications up to six times a day, along with extended box rest and having to wear an Equivisor.
With expert medical care and diligent after by our team, Chris Dixon has now declared Neeka healed. As this is a genetic issues, she'll need to be carefully monitored the rest of her life for any additional treatment consideration. For now, Neeka is happily visor- and medication-free, and enjoying occasional time back with her friends in the fields.
As always, it's only through you love and support that we are able to consider availing of the very best care for the horses. You made it possible for Neeka to continue living and enjoying her life, for which we're extremely appreciative.
If you wish to contribute any amount to her final visit with Chris Dixon before we close out the GoFundMe campaign, it would be gratefuly received.
