Support Our Essential All-Weather Turnout Areas

Our all-weather turnout areas are a lifeline for our horses, providing a safe and comfortable space throughout the year.

Since our main fields are some distance from the yard, these turnout areas are invaluable when the horses need attention, training, or just a chance to stretch their legs after a night indoors especially as not all the horses can 'free rein!'.

They’re especially beneficial for horses on restricted exercise, offering them fresh air and gentle movement without the risk of overexertion.

We use a woodchip surface, which is perfect for their needs. It’s soft enough to cushion arthritic joints, comfortable for horses to rest on when the ground is hard, and an excellent solution during the wet winter months when our fields become muddy and waterlogged.

To keep these turnout areas in top condition, the woodchip needs to be topped up annually. Ordering a full load is the most cost-effective option, but it comes at a cost of £984. 

With your help, we can cover this additional expense and ensure the turnout areas remain a clean, healthy, and welcoming environment for our horses. Donations start from just £5, and every contribution helps us provide the care and comfort our horses deserve.
