Our Friesian mares need a dry turnout area where they can enjoy the winter months in comfort out of the extreme weather. Last year we saw just how life-changing the boys’ shelter was. Giving them a warm, dry space made such a huge difference to their happiness. Now it’s time for the girls to have the same, but on a bigger scale, as there are more of them!
This new turnout space & barn won’t just help through the wet winter months. It will also give the girls a cool, shaded space in summer, helping them escape the heat and the horseflies, ensuring year-round comfort.
What’s Planned
A large purpose-built barn with raised bedding, feed areas, and storage space
Improved ground and access so the girls can move safely without struggling in mud, with solid footing to stand on
Year-round comfort with shade in summer and shelter in winter
