MEET THE HORSES TOUR

Though the Friesian Sanctuary isn't generally open to the public, we create experiences for booking as we love sharing the magic of Greenbank Farm,  the beautiful horses who call it their forever home, and the ethos that infuses all we do on their behalf.

Our popular, one-hour Meet the Horses Tour is the perfect intoduction to the Sanctuary, offering an intimate, personalised experence. Come by yourself or bring up to two companions with you. Companions within the same group will be charged at a nominal fee of £25 per person.

Prepare to be captivated as you step into a world where you can make a special connection with our Friesian horses. Immerse yourself in their world by exploring all their living accomodations. You may find a few napping in our inviting barn while others may be free-reining or corraled on our gated yard. You may even catch a few in action, doing groundwork in our outdoor arena--a stunning sight! Some may be grazing and exercising  up on their trackways on the hill above the yard. We'll take our covered, tempeeature--contolled ATV, Arthur, down the lane to see those in the Boys' Turnout and our unique Palace and Playground. On the way back, you can see the beautiful Memorial Orchard where our Friesian who have passed are laid to rest. All along the way, your knowledgable  guide will happily answer any questions you have.

Rain or shine, our passion for sharing these extraordinary creatures with you knows no bounds. If the weather is less than ideal, we are happy to accommodate you on an alternate date with 24 hours notice. We do recommend bringing along appropriate weather gear and a sturdy pair of boots as our farm's rustic charm may leave a bit of mud on your soles. 

"LINGER LONGER" OPTION

Want to "Linger Longer" at the Sanctuary after your tour? For an additional £75 per booking, extend your visit to a half day at Greenbank Farm. Make yourself at home and enjoy sanctuary life at your own pace. Amble the areas you've visited on the tour, spend additional time with the horses on the yard, wander up the tracks, explore the woodland, or find a peaceful spot to sit and take everything in. Bring a picnic or snacks--our picnic tables and benches around the yard, tracks and woodland allow you to enjoy a lovely meal with spectacular views in peaceful suroundings.

Our team will be caring for the horses, so while you will see us around, we may not always be able to stop and chat. This is your opportunity to make yourself at home and explore Greenbank in a relaxed and independent way where the outside world and your worries fade away, leaving space to simply be, breathe, and relax!
