Sponsor the Memorial Orchard

In 2025, we undertook an improvement project in the Memorial Orchard designed to protect and enhance the growth of the trees under which our passed residents lie, and honor the life of each horse with a personalized plaque, toward making this a welcoming, contemplative space for all.

Our fencing guru, David, made, installed, and stained post-and-rail fencing around each of nine trees (sweet Vela, has both an apple and a cherry tree) and planted hundreds of Spring flowering bulbs to help remind us of the souls who remain such a part of our mission at the Sanctuary. This work has already made a positive impact during the past growing season, producing a crop of yummy apples on several of the trees. David will do additional work before year's end, putting the trees to bed for winter and installing the beautiful, sturdy Corian plaques .

This sponsorship give you the opportunity to  honor the legacy of Black Horses and The Friesian Experience created by each one of these special Fresian souls. Your name, or that of someone special to you, will appear on your individual plaque affixed to the enclosure rail of your chosen horse. (Or you can make a general donation and allow the team to chose location).
