Sponsor Next Step Hedging

As work continues on The Next Step, we are creating a safer, more varied track system that will give our horses greater freedom of movement, access to shelter and the opportunity to live alongside one another while new groups are introduced carefully.

An important part of this project is the planting of approximately 4,000 native hedging whips around the new tracks and grazing areas.

The young hawthorn, hazel, dog rose, field maple, rosehip and willow will be planted in two staggered rows along specially prepared earth bunds. As the hedging establishes, it will provide natural shelter for the horses, create valuable habitat and food for wildlife, strengthen the field boundaries and help the new track network blend naturally into the Greenbank Farm landscape.

50 hedging whips — £250

Sponsors of 50 whips will also have their name, family name, name of a loved one or even a business name on a sponsor sign displayed on the fencing beside the new hedge.

Your sponsorship will not only help provide the whips themselves. It will also contribute towards preparing and forming the bunds, stock and rabbit fencing, posts and fixings, planting, replacing any whips that do not establish, and the early maintenance and aftercare needed to give the hedge the best possible start.
