Earlier this year, Iceman developed a sarcoid above his eye which, sadly, has now returned and is growing quickly. After consulting with Professor Derek Knottenbelt, the world’s leading specialist on sarcoids, our vet has recommended BCG injections — a treatment with a good success rate for sarcoids around the eye.

The medication itself costs around £400, and each treatment visit requires additional medication (steroids and sedation) plus administration costs of about £250 per visit. With up to 7 sessions needed, this brings the initial course of treatment to approximately £2,150, not including the ongoing natural supplements we’ve already started adding to his feed.
