We do have prescriptions for bute. 
 
1 Box lasts each horse 14 days
5 horses =  26 boxes per year 
 
Bute is an essential part of the diet to keep some of the horses comfortable. We have used more natural alternatives in the past and still do however over the years we have found bute to be the most reliable for those in need of support.
 
Hoitze and Hidde have bute daily to keep them comfortable as it has anti-inflammatory properties to help his arthritis in his old age. 
 
Sjoukje has a fracture to the extensor process in her front right foot so she has bute daily to help keep her comfortable.
 
Nero is also on this medication to help whilst he recovers from hock fusion which may take up to 12 months to settle.
 
Anja is a diagnosed 'Wobbler', and has bute daily to help with any inflammation around her spine.
